10 Reasons Why the Industrial Panel PC Cannot Be Turned On Normally?

After being used for a period of time, the industrial Panel PC suddenly cannot be turned on. The project is in need of the PC’s operation, but you are not familiar with the construction principle. Naturally, you don’t know the specific reason and how to do it.

What are the regular reasons why the industrial panel PC cannot be turned on? We have summarized the following 10 faults.

First of all, let’s troubleshoot and analyze the faults, such as failure to boot, black screen, and blue screen. If you encounter the following 10 common phenomena, we hope that our analysis and solutions can be helpful, and you can solve the problem accordingly.

1. Press the power button and there is no response

Analyze: If you press the power button, the indicator light of the industrial panel pc does not light up, we must make sure whether the power cord is loose, or whether the power adapter has been short-circuited and burned out, and whether the supply voltage is normal.

Solution: check the circuit and make sure it is powered normally.

2. No “di” sound after pressing the power button, and no response on the screen after turned on, power supply is normal.

Analyze: The internal BIOS data of the motherboard COMS chip is damaged by CIH virus or static electricity, and cannot be read. The system cannot complete the self-test, so it cannot be started.

Solution: Contact the motherboard manufacturer to replace the new COMS chip or find the BIOS file provided by the motherboard manufacturer and use the burner to write it.

3. Power button pressed, the optical drive light flashes, the mainboard power prompt light is on, the power supply is normal, but no response on the screen.

Analyze: It will occur after the CPU is damaged. The BIOS first checks the CPU during the self-check process. The CPU is damaged and cannot pass the self-check, and the computer cannot be started.

Solution: Check whether the CPU is installed correctly, whether the CPU core is damaged. Replace the CPU to check whether it’s damaged.

4. Power button pressed, the PC will automatically shut down immediately or no response.

Analyze: The main reason is the heat dissipation of the CPU. 1) CPU fanless with the heat sink equipment. 2) CPU not with the heat sink, will burn out. No CPU fan, or the CPU fan power cord is not connected to the motherboard CFAN interface but to the SFAN (system fan interface), it will not be able to boot.

Solution: With the heat sink for CPU; or correctly connect the CPU fan to the power interface of the motherboard, and confirm that it is connected to the three-core dedicated CPU fan interface of CFAN, next to the CPU

5. No response when booting. The mainboard power supply is normal and the CPU is normal, but there is no display on the screen.

Analyze: After the computer has been used for more than 3 years, the battery voltage for the BIOS setting gradually decreases, and data cannot be saved. Some motherboards using early chipsets may fail to complete the self-check. The motherboard itself has no hardware problems.

Solution: Buy a CR2032 lithium battery, replace the existing battery on the motherboard to complete the self-test normally, and then reset the BIOS parameters.

6. The self-check is not completed after turned on, no “di” sound, and a continuous “di-di-di…” sound is emitted at the same time.

Analyze: According to the BIOS alarm sound, (Note: Some motherboards do not have a boot sound.), the problem is generally in the memory. The probability of memory damage is relatively small, most of the problems are caused by memory oxidation or poor contact of the socket.

Solution: First, check whether the golden fingers, memory sockets, chips and PCB have burnt marks. If any, it is recommended to replace the memory. If not, use an eraser to gently rub the golden finger, and then reinsert the memory slot.

7. After turning on, the power supply is normal, but the NUM and other indicators on the keyboard do not flash. Unable to complete the self-test.

Analyze: The keyboard controller or I/O chip of the motherboard is damaged, and the self-check cannot be completed.

Solution: Replace the I/O chip and check the keyboard interface circuit.

8. There is no response, the power button pressed. The indicators of power and hard disk do not light up.

Analyze: Through a multimeter to check the output voltage of the power supply, it is found that 12V, 5V, and 3.3V are abnormal, which is very different from the standard voltage. There is a problem with the internal circuit of the power supply.

Solution: Replacing the high-quality 300W power supply, the problem is solved.

9. Power button pressed, the industrial PC fails to pass the self-test, the screen no respons. The display indicator is orange or flashing.

Analyze: During the self-test, the graphics card failed the self-test, and failed to complete the basic hardware test. Then cannot boot.

Solution: Check whether the gold finger of the graphics card is oxidized or there is a large amount of dust in the AGP interface that causes a short circuit. 1) Rub the gold finger with an eraser, and clean the dust in the AGP interface with a leather tiger. 2) Replace the graphics card to see if the graphics card is damaged.

10. Disassemble the industrial PC and doing the testing. When installed again, it cannot be turned on. Sometimes the PC can be turned on normally when the PC is erected, but it cannot be turned on after being laid flat.

Analyze: Some chassis are not made by standard, which causes some motherboards to deform after installation. The bottom of the motherboard is in contact with the chassis, causing a short circuit and making it impossible to boot.

Solution: Replace the chassis with good quality and use standard accessories to install the components
