Electrostatic spraying refers to a coating method that uses the principle of corona discharge to make the atomized paint negatively charged under the action of a high-voltage direct current electric field, and is adsorbed on the surface of a positively charged substrate. The equipment is composed of a spray gun, a spray cup, and a high voltage power supply. At present, it’s generally used in the industry of metal products, such as automobiles, aluminum door cabinets, large & small stainless steel.

Some customers need to build large-scale sealed electrostatic spraying machinery and equipment independently and automatically control the spray gun, effectively use and recycle the spraying powder to reduce the pollution from industrial waste. Due to the construction of automation, industrial computers are required to control and collect data of spray guns and machinery. The electrostatic spraying equipment faces the threats from the workshop in the following three points:
1. If the spraying workshop is not well sealed, there will be ultra-high voltage electrostatic dust;
2. If the spraying workshop is sealed, it will still face the electrostatic return from the lines.
3. f the spraying workshop is sealed, it will also face the electrostatic return from the lines.

Therefore, the automation of the electrostatic spraying equipment industry must consider the above three threats, so as to take relevant protective measures.
An industrial computer used in the electrostatic spraying industry has 6 USB ports, 4 in and 4 out GPIO ports to connect to the spray gun of the customer. GPIO has its own electrical isolation chip to prevent the voltage backflow of the electrostatic gun.
