How to Choose SCREEN for Outdoor or Semi-outdoor Application?

Categories

There are bad experiences for the user we met in our life. When I went to an Outdoor Parcel Locker for my parcel, it is hard for me to see the words on the screen.

The screen is very dark. I have to move my head here and there to find the right angle.

When you see the screen, you see yourself on screen in the day.

1. Outdoor

No cover, no kiosk, no teminal, only SCREEN or PC. It needs FULL IP65 Waterproof.

2. Semi-outdoor

With a cover, or kiosk, or teminal. Front IP65 waterproof is enough.

How to avoid the same problems on your project?

1) Wide temperature: -30℃/-20℃ ~ +70℃/+80℃.

For example: If in Norway, it is too cold in the winter, it needs -30℃ endurance for the screen; If in Saudi Arabia, it is too hot under the sun, it needs 70℃ endurance. Or it will get the black screen, which cannot be used normally.

2) High brightness 1000nits, sunlight-readable.

3) Light sensor for auto-dimming, when day and night.

4) Anti-glare Glass, to reduce the shadow on the screen.

5) Optical Bonding, if goes with FULL IP65 & Capacitive Touch
