Why Does the CPU of the Industrial Computer Burn Out?

Categories

The CPU is the least damaged hardware in an industrial computer. Why do some people burn out their CPUs when they use industrial computers?

The CPU of the industrial computer is the same as that of a commercial computer. We use Intel’s CPU, and its warranty is 3 years. If it is used normally, it is rare to hear that the CPU is damaged within 3-5 years of ordinary computers. What caused the burnt-out? We will explain to you in detail.

1. the Voltage

The voltage of the industrial computer is within a stable range, such as our industrial computer HV-C101B, the computer is transferred out with the power adapter 9~36V input. The electronic components inside have standard power. If some customers do not use the configured power adapter, above 36V, the power is too high, and the electronic components on the motherboard are burned out instantaneously.

The CPU of the industrial computer is mounted on the motherboard. If there is a problem with the motherboard, the CPU will have the possibility of being burned.

2. the Heat Dissipation

Many industrial computers use a fanless cooling system, relying on the heat dissipation block and the chassis to transfer heat to the outside of the body. If the internal temperature of the industrial computer is too high and cannot be exported in time, the temperature of the CPU will be too high, causing the CPU to slow down or even be burned.

Generally speaking, the heat dissipation of industrial computers is tested. If the industrial computer has been used for a long time, the internal thermal grease and heat sink will expire, resulting in the heat from the CPU core not being able to be transferred to the outside in time, so you need to open the cover and replace the silicone grease.

3. the Motherboard

When choosing the CPU of the industrial computer, it is necessary to consider whether the CPU is compatible with the hardware of the industrial motherboard. If the industrial motherboards do not cooperate well with the CPU, resulting in an unstable power supply, and it is very easy for the CPU to be burned.

4. the Used CPU

If used second-hand CPU processors in order to be cheap, some gold fingers are seriously oxidized. In addition, the previous usage is unknown, and this CPU is easily damaged by overclocking.

5. the Installation

The installation of the CPU must be correct for the pins. If not very professional in assembling industrial computers, reversed during installation, and the pins are damaged. Due to a small issue with the pins of the CPU, the voltage is not stable or the damage to the normal power supply is caused during use.
