How to Quickly Connect CAN Bus?

Categories

With the development of science and technology, industrial control needs related data collection and control in more and more fields. Such as in high-speed rail, subway, and aerospace, industrial computers are required to have a CAN bus. However, many manufacturers do not design a CAN bus in their standard interfaces. If a customer needs an industrial computer with a CAN bus, how to do it?

With CAN bus, there are 8 methods, which mainly depends on whether the industrial computer has the following interfaces:

1. USB to CAN bus

1) High-performance USB to multi-channel CAN-bus interface card, which is compatible with USB2.0 full-speed bus specification. Integrated 1-8 CAN-bus interfaces. The CAN channel integrates an independent electrical isolation protection circuit. The interface card connects the PC to the CAN network through the USB port to form a CAN-bus control node.
2) The USB CAN-I-mini high-performance CAN interface card is compatible with the full-speed specification of the USB2.0 bus, and it integrates a high-performance CAN-bus communication interface card with 1~2 CAN interfaces. Using the USB CAN-I-mini high-performance CAN interface card, the PC can be connected to the CAN-bus network via the USB bus, which constitutes a CAN-bus network control node for data processing and data acquisition in CAN-bus network fields such as Fieldbus laboratories, industrial control, high-performance communities, and automotive electronic networks.

2. PCI to CAN bus

PCI series general CAN card, compatible with PCI 2.2 specification, high-performance CAN interface card with 1~4 CAN interfaces. Using the PCI to CAN-BUS, the PC can be connected to the CAN network through the PCI interface to form data acquisition and data processing in the CAN network fields such as laboratories, industrial control, and smart communities.

3. CPCI to CAN bus

The CPCI to CAN bus card is a high-performance CAN interface card that complies with the PICMG 2.1 R2.0 specification, supports the CompactPCI Hot Swap Specification (hot-swap), and has a 2-Line CAN interface. Using the CPCI interface CAN card, the industrial computer can be connected to the CAN network through the CPCI interface to form data acquisition and data processing in the CAN network fields such as high-speed rail, rail transit, navigation, and testing.

4. MiniPCIe to CAN bus

The high-performance MiniPCIe interface CAN card can extend the motherboard with MiniPCIe card slot to a 2-line CAN interface. It adopts the standard MiniPCIe board size and can be easily installed on a laptop or industrial computer with a MiniPCIe interface. It is one of the most commonly used CAN buses for fanless industrial computers.

5. Ethernet to CAN bus

The Ethernet-CAN converter realizes the function of mutual transmission of CAN-bus data and Ethernet data. It integrates 1, 2, 4 CAN-bus interfaces and 1, 2 Ethernet interfaces or optical fiber interfaces. With its own TCP/IP or UDP protocol stack, users can easily complete the interconnection and intercommunication of CAN-bus network and Ethernet network, establishing an Ethernet-CAN two-layer network architecture, realizing remote control, and greatly expanding the CAN-bus network Scope of application.

6. WIFI to CAN bus

The WiFi converter realizes the function of mutual transmission of CAN-bus data and WiFi data. It integrates a 2-line CAN-bus interface, a 1-line WLAN interface, a 1-line LAN interface, and comes with TCP/IP or UDP protocol stack. It can easily complete the interconnection and intercommunication of CAN-bus networks and WiFi networks, greatly expanding the application range of CAN-bus networks.

7. RS232/485/422 to CAN bus

The industrial-grade intelligent protocol converter can quickly connect RS-232/485/422 communication equipment to the CAN-bus field bus. Bidirectional communication can be realized.

8. PCIe to CAN bus

The PCIe to CAN bus is a PCI Express x1 specification CAN interface card, high-performance with a 2-line CAN interface. The PC can be connected to the CAN network through the PCIe interface to form data collection and data processing in the CAN network fields such as laboratories, industrial control, and smart communities.

Our industrial box pc and panel pc can be integrated with the CAN bus. The PCs are stable and reliable. Currently, they are widely used in high-speed railways, subways, aerospace, building security, elevator control, weighing instruments, medical equipment, and other occasions.
